Because there are significant differences in the patterns of growth and learning of children in each of these developmental age groups (5-14), it is vital to address the problem snow, rather than consider it a downfall later. With that in mind, I created Reading MegaFest: Irresistible Readers.

The Reading MegaFest addresses literacy to help students meet high standards in reading, by inspiring youth to become lifelong readers, by building reading accuracy and comprehension through promoting active engagement to create Irresistible Readers.

I know that it is critical, thatstudents become independent readers. This Initiative, impacts early childhood and adolescents, who are not always encouraged to do so. Too often, students lack phonemic instruction and reinforcement, therefore loosing the momentum to improve reading and spelling, and to a larger extent, comprehension. An inclusive proram like this, teaches parents, as well as youth, the importance of reading strategies and real-world connections and experiences for precocious and emerging readers.

Every year during the Thanksgiving season, families enjoy give thanks in many ways. For families that can't afford to have a Thanksgiving Family Dinner, we provide baskets, in our Thanks in Giving Campaign.

Before the School Year starts, or throughout the school year, having the necessary supplies is not something that everyone can easlily access and/or afford. With this campaign, we collect and distribute backpacks full of supplies to those in need.

Hands of Hope teamed up in an outreach program to visit Chris Evert Children's Hospital, and Child Care Specialists, to bring cheer and games to children in difficult health situations.

In response to a local need fo clothing. We have our ongoing Clothing Drive as mentioned above. In order to reach out to those in need beyond our borders, We're reaching out to Africa in a Clothing Campaign, by making Pillow Case Dresses for Girls, and Britches for boys.

This Initiative will launch during the 2015 Campaign cycle. More details to come.

Whether it's a Campaign or a year-round clothing drive, Each year, we team up with other schools to collect clothing for Homeless Teens and Families. As Ambassadors, youth decide which organizations will benefit the most from our donations at the end of each collection cycle. Past recipients include, The Salvation Army, His House Children's Home, Broward Outreach Center, and Covenant House.

The Broward Outreach Center is a comprehensive Homeless Assistance program, helping the hungry and homeless through recovery and rehabilitation efforts. We teamed up with Volunteer Hollywood, during Together We Serve Week.
